About Belle

Belle was from Raven and Jarratt’s Dallas, born June 2008 and passed in mid-April 2025 at almost 17 years. She had a sweet, sunny personality, so her name suited her well. She was exceptionally intelligent, resilient, and enthusiastic in her approach to life. She was also very cute… which she knew how to use to her advantage!  She was an outstanding mother and grandmother — she could teach master classes in puppy raising.

Belle was smart, sensitive, and eager to work; she had a mind of her own but took direction well. Belle was a natural heeler, and quite happy to get in and stir things up, but she also had a good feel for her stock and was capable of working with a gentle touch when required. She  demonstrated her herding ability with cattle, goats, sheep and ducks, and earned a herding trial championship (HTCH) as well as advanced level “herding – ranch dog (HRD),” “herding- trial dog (HTD)” and “herding – trial arena dog (HTAD)” titles from AHBA. Belle was a fun dog to work with; she was cheerful, intelligent, and willing, with a good sense of humor.  Belle had four litters (see litters webpage for more information).
