Honey is out of Brighton's second litter, born in November 2002. She is a beautiful dog. Honey is fast, sensitive, and extremely devoted -- quite literally, an "English Shadow". She is both eager to work livestock and willing to take direction; she is the first English Shepherd recognized as a herding trial champion by AHBA (her son Tupelo is the second), with five advanced level herding titles (HRD IIIs, HTAD IIIsd, RLF IIIs, HTDIIId), as well as an open level Farm Dog title from ASCA. More intense and quick to respond than her pack-mates, handling Honey requires clarity and consistency. Given that, she has the ability to be exceptional. She is very talented, she wants to please, and she has a lot of heart. Although she is a sensitive dog, Honey does not quit in the face of adversity.
Honey is a very expressive dog; there is never any secret as to what she is thinking -- which makes her a very entertaining companion. Honey feels and responds to her environment with intensity, whether she is chasing a squirrel or rolling in perfume that has drifted onto the floor.
Honey is OFA good, PennHIP DI=0.43/0.48, and has had a normal CERF evaluation (eyes). DNA test for DM (degenerative myelopathy) is normal/normal. Honey is retired from breeding after producing two litters -- one by Sandi Thomas' Boston and one by Sarah Budde's Cash. Scroll down for more photos and her pedigree.
